Silk dying from large to small! Students try using a life size frame and creating their own textile. Do you have an idea for a series of silk scarves come to my studio and set yourself up a production line. All fabrics will be steam and prepped by Maggie. All fabric and dye will be customized to the student’s needs.

Mixed Media —Work on multiple skins or 2-D layers with painting, collage, drawing and carving. Students will sculpt these skins into a 3-D original creation using and armature.  Found objects, paper, fabric and metal are just a few of the materials used. Advanced class will include welding!

Encaustics — Learn the art of working in hot wax. Students will burn and fuse lawyers of colored wax into stunning abstract work. Students will learn to paint and carve in layers. Ghosting, collage and sculpture and shellac techniques will all be explored.
